New Zealand beat Sri Lanka in the First match of T20 World Cup

Today in the first world cup match New Zealand faced Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat. Dilshan and Jayawardene opened the innings for Sri Lanks, Even though Jayawardene scored 81 runs in 51 balls other batsman didn't add much to the total. Sri Lanka managed to score 135/6 in 20 overs.
Shane Bond took two wickets for New Zealand. Nathan McCullum, Oram, Southee and Styris took one wicket each.
New Zealand lost Brendon McCullum in the first over later Guptill and Ryder showed some resistance. Even though Sri Lanka managed to take wickets in regular basis they where unable to win the match. New Zealand ensured their victory in the lost over.
New Zealand won the match by 2 wickets. This will give them a comfortable chance to reach the Super Eight.
